Fig D5: Winning & Touching Square Example
Taking a look at the example on the chalkboard above (Fig D5):
First: Score vs. Winning Square
1st Quarter:
- Score: 3 to 14, Team Grid: AWAY = 3 and HOME = 4, Winning Square: #61 (Green)
- Score: 10 to 17, Team Grid: AWAY = 0 and HOME = 7, Winning Square: #27 (Red)
- Score: 6 to 20, Team Grid: AWAY = 6 and HOME = 0, Winning Square: #84 (Yellow)
- Score: 30 to 33, Team Grid: AWAY = 0 and HOME = 3, Winning Square: #42 (Blue)
Note: The last category is FINAL Score not the 4th Quarter because there are sports that continue into overtime to determine the winner. Exception is the BASEBALL to level the playing field for participants.
Second: Winning Square vs. Touching Squares
Once the winning squares are selected process of selecting the touching squares is a relatively simple. The touching square must be in direct contact with the winning square, No diagonal contact. The touching squares are located above, below, left and to the right of the winning square. In the event the winning square is along the edge of the participation grid, the touching square is located in the wraparound position. For Example see Fig D5 the winning and touching squares for the 1st Quarter (Green).

Ratio System:

Fig D6: SBC Ratio System 100 Squares
The Ratio is based on the number of squares and in no way coveys the odds of winning a prize. With the 100 square boards the ratio numbers add up to 100. The 100 squares allows for more flexibility with more prizes at different levels. Using the ratio systems found on all the SBC Promotional Boards the administrator of the promotion can attach prizes to the winning and touching squares. For example movie passes to the smaller ratios such as 2:1 and a weekend getaway for larger ratios such as 32:1.

Fig D7: SBC Ratio System 25 Squares
With the 25 square boards there is one ratio at 25:1. The 25 Squares board is ideal smaller promotions with one prize. There is flexibility in a board with only one prize when you assign the value.

Prize System:

Fig D8: SBC Prize System 100 Squares
The SBC prize system is designed to assist the administrator of the promotion with assigning prizes to the winning and/or touching squares. There is no set monetary value directly connected to the winning and/or touching squares. This gives the administrator the flexibility to assign any prize they wish to the squares. SBC offers suggestions only as to the perceived value of board prizes. The participation squares are earned not purchased and for this reason, the winning and/or touching square value are arbitrary and flexible. In Fig. D8 there is a suggested prize scale of small, medium and large prizes.

SBC Office Promotions:
The goal in any office is to increase productivity, morale and camaraderie. If an office manager can achieve any or all of these it translates into profitability. If the company is making more money the bosses that be will be happy which makes the managers happy and yes even the employees happy. It also presents an opportunity for the employees, managers and bosses to send time together outside of work. Squares can be earned with achievements in the office such as attendance (1 square), productivity (2 squares), efficiency (3 squares), creativity (3 squares) and tasks which create policy change (5 squares) on the SBC Board. As seen in the SBC prize system it is entirely up to the administrator of the office promotion to assign prizes to the winning and touching squares.

SBC Recreational Promotions:
Any business that depends on repeat business is always looking for promotional tools to obtain more and more of the customer base. SBC Promotions offers many tools to aid any business owner or manager in event planning. As any owner or manager knows you need a draw to pull customers into their establishment. For Example: In a Restaurant or Tavern the focus is on the party first, then the game with the board as a part of the party. The business owner sells a ticket which entitles the patrons to the free food and drink specials at the party or if the patron purchases a particular product they wish to promote. The purchase of the ticket covers the cost of the party only and for additional entertainment the patron receives a square on the SBC Board. The product promotions can give a square to the patron as they purchase the goods the owner wants them to. In addition to the draw factor there is the longevity aspect if the party or promotion is using a sporting event and a SBC board. Using these elements a party or promotion can last 3 to 5 hours which translates into profit. As seen in the SBC prize system it is entirely up to the administrator of the recreational promotion to assign prizes to the winning and touching squares.
